Reducing the Mortality Rate of Non-Communicable Diseases and Promoting Mental Health.
By 2030, through prevention, treatment, and the promotion of mental health and well-being, reduce premature deaths caused by non-communicable diseases by one-third.
— United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 3 "Good Health and Well-being," Target 4
/ Project Background /
With the acceleration of life and work rhythms and the intensification of social competition, the psychological pressure on citizens has significantly increased, highlighting mental health issues among the population. Among these, the student population, a focal point of societal attention, faces increasing pressures related to academics and employment. Mental health problems are becoming increasingly prominent and are trending towards younger ages. Reports indicate that the depression detection rate among high school students exceeds 40%, junior high students exceeds 30%, and elementary school students exceeds 10%.
Additionally, according to field research conducted by UNITAR CIFAL Hubei, the issues faced by left-behind children require particular attention.
In some of the schools we surveyed, the lack of extracurricular courses and corresponding qualified teachers leads to students developing a dislike for school. At home, children whose parents are away lack care and companionship, often becoming addicted to electronic devices and developing mental health problems. These various real-life conditions cause these children to experience truancy, dropout, or even more severe situations, leading them to experience emotional emptiness at an earlier age.

Xinxiang Psychological Counseling was founded by several existential-humanistic counselors and incorporates elements of Chinese culture, creating a unique style of psychological counseling. The brand name "Xinxiang" originates from the "Tao Te Ching" phrase "执大象,天下往" ("Holding the Great Image, all under heaven follows").
